Kristjan Eyjolfsson leads the pack in competition to win IJL stand.

The voting for the IJL and BJA KickStart People’s Choice award is hotting up on the Professional Jeweller homepage, as the designers win votes from the industry, friends and family in the battle to win a free stand and mentoring package at IJL 2015.

The voting for this year’s People’s Choice award closes on June 6 2014, but a clear top three has already broken ahead on Professionaljeweller.com, with designer Kristjan Eyjolfsson currently in the lead with a total 38.1% of the votes, closely followed by Majdan Rocks (31.4%) and Sophie Alice Hirsch (18.1%).

This year’s KickStart 2014 line-up includes Cara Tonkin, Kristjan Eyjolfsson, Iwona Majdan, Tom Blake and Charlotte Valkeniers. The designers will showcase their work as part of a British Jewellers’ Association (BJA) supported stand at IJL at Olympia in London, which opens at the end of August for three days.

The designers are in contest to win the free stand, with votes cast via the Professional Jeweller home page, through the IJL website and via Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.

Those wishing to vote using social media can tweet the name of the KickStarter they’d like to vote for with the hashtag #KickStartVote, while Instagram users can post a picture of their favourite KickStarter or a piece of their jewellery, with the same #KickStartVote hashtag. Facebook users can cast their votes via a poll hosted on the IJL Facebook page.

There is only 10 days left until the vote closes, with designers Rosie May Jewellery, Jeanne Maree and Cara Tonkin in need of votes to boost their chances of winning the stand.

Each KickStarter will receive mentoring in the run up to the show, with the lucky People’s Choice winner announced during the show from a culmination of votes places through the IJL and PJ sites and social media.
