W.E. Clark client event raises a glass to diamonds

Store's VIP clients given chance to meet diamond broker and polishers.

East Sussex jeweller W.E. Clark & Sons hosted a special diamond evening for VIP clients at its Lewes store last week, flying a diamond broker and two Antwerp-based diamond polishers over for the event.

One hundred of the shop’s top clients were given a chance to see diamond polishing in progress at the shop, and also try their own hand at the craft.

W.E. Clark also used the event to showcase special pieces from a select number of jewellery suppliers, as well as its own new jewellery creations.

Managing director David Clark said: "In terms of success, the event surpassed our highest expectations, which will lead to our best November in the history of the business which dates back to 1819.

"The aims was to make our top clients feel as if this was an event for them and to make them feel extra special. After our showroom refurbishment in 2012, which now spans two levels, I felt I wanted to use this asset to its best advantage. There are not many jewellery showrooms that can comfortably host 120 clients plus staff."

Clark added that the store took a good proportion of what it expects to take in November in four hours.

"I started organising this event in April this year, and it paid off for us," Clark added.
