Jason Rigby, director of Rigby Jewellers in Chester, says Willie Hamilton has left the Company of Master Jewellers in good shape.

While change may present challenge in the short term, Rigby says Hamilton has “left the CMJ in a strong position and well placed to continue”.

“Who knows what opportunities lie ahead,” Rigby says, adding: “Willie Hamilton has taught us to look forward to the future with a positive outlook.”

“Willie, with his wealth of experience and energetic approach, brought the CMJ more up to date with a professional forward thinking approach in many areas from corporate governance, media relations, encouraging retailers and suppliers to work together more closely, embracing social media – the list goes on,” Rigby continues. “This has allowed the CMJ to flourish and enjoy enormous growth and success both for the retailers and suppliers, over the last 10 years.”

Rigby Jewellers is an independent family firm, which was established in 1889. Today, Jason Rigby owns the company and represents the fourth generation keeping the business striving on the high street.

The retailer concludes: “I should like to thank Willie for his enormous input to the CMJ over the last 10 years and wish him all the best for his future role.”
