Middleton remodels sapphire and diamond cluster studs.
The Duchess of Cambridge has accepted a second heirloom from the jewellery owned by the late Diana Princess of Wales, in the form of a pair of diamond and sapphire earrings.
The earrings, which match Kate Middleton’s engagement ring, were gifted to her by her husband, Prince William.
They have a similar diamond and sapphire cluster design to the much-copied engagement ring, but Middleton has added her own touch to the design – by having the studs remodelled into drop earrings/
Prince William said he proposed to Middleton with Princess Diana’s 19-carat sapphire engagement ring so his mother could be part of their engagement and marriage.
Middleton is said to have wore them for the first time when she watched Andy Murray from the Royal Box at Wimbledon last month. They also had several appearance during the couple’s official visit to Canada and America.
