Wongs Jewellers recently co-sponsored the first ever Liverpool Former Players Association’s gala dinner at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool, welcoming guests including Jamie Carragher, Ian Rush, Roy Evans, comedian John Bishop and gymnast Beth Tweddle.
The event celebrated past Liverpool players and their achievements with everal awards given out on the night. Of those Carragher was enlisted into the Liverpool Legends Hall of Fame, receiving the award for Player of the Decade 2002 to 2010.
Wong Jewellers director Peter Wong said of the event: “This was an amazing event to be part of with many of Liverpool FC’s former legends in attendance. Beth Tweddle looked stunning in her diamond Wongs necklace and we were delighted to be associated with the inaugural LFC Former Players Association end of season gala dinner”.
The event was co-sponsored by Carlsberg and was hosted by Claire Rourke and Matt Critchley from LFC TV.
Chairman of the Liverpool Former Players Association Jan Molby said: “I am delighted that so many of the former players have joined us here tonight to celebrate the amazing achievements of some remarkable footballers spanning six decades.

Former Liverpool Manager Roy Evans won a Lifetime Achievement Award while Luis Suarez picked up the Player of the Season Award for 2013.
Chairman of the Hillsborough Family Support Group Margaret Aspinall presented Ian Rush with the award for Player of the 80s, while Brendan Rodgers presented Phil Thompson with the gong for Player of the 70s.
