Zevar jewels chosen for British Museum shop

Silver jewellery brand Zevar will be stocked in the British Museum’s shop this year.

Since the brand’s launch into the UK market in June 2015, Zevar products have been stocked by several online retailers including ASOS, Shopcade and Independent Boutique.

Its debut into the British Museum shop represents Zevar’s first foray into a physical retail space, with more partnerships in the pipleline for 2016.

Brand founder and director, Shivani S. Mohinta, is a Londoner and her brand pays tribute to her home country – India. Mohinta works closely with a select group of artisans based in remote Indian villages to create her pieces, giving the artisans the opportunity to receive fair prices, no binding contracts and the freedom to make a success of their craft by building a sustainable business.

Zevar offers handcrafted silver jewellery adorned with semi precious stones such as turquoise, carnelian, zirconia and quartz. The jewellery takes inspiration from vibrant colours that are used in Indian folk art, colourful Indian textiles and prints, and hand painted tiles and pottery.

Zevar can be found in the British Museum Shop from January 2016.
