More than 55,000 individual Swarovski crystals were used to decorate the set at the 83rd Academy Awards - aka The Oscars.

This year’s Academy Awards nominees will leave the ceremony with free gifts, including luxury jewellery, regardless of whether they triumph in their category.

It has been revealed that the ‘Everyone Wins’ goodie bags that are given to the 26 acting and directing nominees will contain a diamond necklace.

As well as the conflict-free necklace, the bags, which are valued at $100,000 contain a mixture of high and low-end items, including a trip to Hawaii and spa treatments.

It is understood that Luxura, a Canadian luxury jewellery, provided the diamond jewellery for Distictive Assets goodie bags.

The bags themselves are not provided in partnership with the Oscars. Distinctive Assets provides the film stars with the luxury goodie bags as an unofficial gift and does not distribute them at the awards.

A raft of Hollywood A-listers attending the 90th Academy Awards, which is taking place this weekend, are expected to pair their evening dresses with statement jewellery from brands such as Chopard, Bulgari and Tiffany and Co.
