Retailer expands online presence in Europe and US with Venda system.

Accesorize is to launch a new ecommerce website to help fuel its international expansion.

The Monsoon brand will be working with eCommerce system provider Venda to create independent online site


The brand currently operates from the platform, but the company has decided an independent online site is a priority, if it is to crack the US and European markets.

The new site aims to make use of the latest technology to create a customer-friendly shopping experience, including social element, guided navigation, flash and behavioural merchandising.I will offer five different European languages, plus an English and Spanish site for the US.

Monsoon Accessorize chief commercial officer Steve Back said: “Venda has ensured that this new site creates an online experience similar to walking into an Accessorize store. The brand is known for offering an ‘Aladdin’s Cave’ of exciting accessories, so the challenge is to replicate this shopping haven as closely as we can online.”

He added: “Cracking the US market was also a priority and Venda’s experience of the complex US tax, delivery and payment system was an added factor in delivering the site into a tough and competitive market.”

Venda will be in charge of handling all the maintenance, hosting, upgrades and system integrations of the site to ensure it runs smoothly.
