British jewellery designer Alex Monroe has collaborated with artist and friend Rob Ryan on a special book for Christmas.
After the success of his first book Two Turtle Doves, Alex Monroe has taken pen to paper again to write a heart-felt tale of friendship and love, brought to life by illustrations from Rob Ryan. The British designer has been friends with Ryan for many years and share a mutual love of hand making in their respective disciplines.
Titled ‘The Jewellers Journey’, the new novel tells the tale of an elderly jeweller who sets off on a magical journey to meet his new born granddaughter. On his mission, the jeweller travels with his friends – a mouse, squirrel, rabbit and fox – who help him in his quest to make this special first meeting in time for Christmas.
Inspired by the art illustrations for the novel, Alex Monroe has created a limited edition run of 14 pieces of jewellery which compliment the story.
This Christmas tale will launch on alexmonroe.com on December 1st, with a chapter a day being revealed alongside a piece of jewellery and some limited edition pieces created by Rob Ryan.
The book will be available on Kindle as well as a limited edition print run from December. £3 from each book sold will be donated to St Mungo’s charity.
