Designer has created line inspired by the Holy Trinity.
Alexandra Simpson will laucnh a new collection at IJL in September, called Spirit.
This collection of necklaces, earrings and other pieces focuses on a three-petalled flower design, crafted in sterling silver with a pearl that swings below and a tanzanite. The collection has been designed to "spiritually echo the three points of the holy Trinity, with the drop becomes a cross."
The collection has also been designed to reflects the colours of the Christmas season, with a play on silver, blue and white, also recognised as Mary’s nativity colours.
Simpson says the collection will also stand alone as a visually desirable example of contemporary jewellery, even without any of the meaning and inspiration behind it and should therefore appeal to a large number of consumers.
Alexandra Simpson designs and makes her collections in London and is inspired by nature and the fantasy and sensuality of Art Nouveau.
