Alice Van Cal has revealed a new earring design that pays homage to the Chinese calendar’s Year of the Rat.
With the Year of the Rat beginning on January 25, 2020, Alice Van Cal Fine Jewellery has revealed its new design inspired by the animal’s famous long tails.
The tail-inspired spiral will be set with rubies, symbolising good fortune and joy, curling around a central stud that can either be a ruby or a white diamond.
A statement said: “This piece embodies perfectly the brand’s voice: being playful, versatile and spreading good luck.
“The Belgium designer always designs her pieces keeping in mind that women wish to wear them for special occasions, as well as on normal days. The Tail Halo is a transformable piece that ladies can transform with different studs and represents a subtle hint to the Chinese Holiday.”
The earings are made from 18-carat rose gold and are priced at £1745.
