Online retail giant Amazon is building a Best of British online jewellery selection featuring brands including Mawi, Laura Gravestock, Missoma, Fiona Paxton and Nicholas King.
The collection of jewellery was showcased at Amazon’s Christmas Wishlist press day in London yesterday, where buyer Julian Exposito-Bader and category leader for jewellery and watches Audrey Rhoads talked through the range and their choices.
Amazon is seeking to build its offer of fashion and luxury jewellery, with products such as 9ct gold hoop earrings with price tickets of £25 through to statement pieces worth several hundreds of pounds by Mawi and Maria Francesca Pepe.
Amazon has also worked with IBB London to create a collection of unisex black spinel friendship bracelets and simple gold jewellery designed for everyday wear under the label Mata-Hari.
Exposito-Bader and Rhoads said they have attended numerous trade shows in the UK to meet up-and-coming and established brands and designers, and have spent a several months working closely with the brands to launch them through Amazon. It is also planning to welcome high-end, gold jewellery brands such as Gurhan.
Other designer brands currently selling through the site include Claire English, Assya, Oak Fine Jewellery, Husam el Odeh and Zoe & Morgan.
