Online retailer Amazon unveiled 17 new jewellery brand acquisitions at its AW16 Wish List press day last week.

For AW16, head of vendor management for jewellery, Julian Exposito-Bader, told Professional Jeweller that for fall Amazon has been focusing on key trends.

At the event, which took place at Victoria House in London, new and regularly stocked jewellery brands were presented mixed together on trend-specific platforms.

“What we are doing for fall is we are focusing on the key trends we are seeing,” explained Exposito-Bader. “The first one we are seeing is lips and within lips.”

Within the lips motif trend Amazon has collaborated with Solange Azagury-Partridge for a third season. This time, the partnership presents glitter lip rings in a variety of colours.

Exposito-Bader continues: “Then we feel chokers are coming in quite strong for us so we have a lot of chokers in the range at every price point. Also brooches are becoming popular and then metallic’s is are our last super strong trend. We’ve seen mix metals and metallic mixed with polish.”

In addition to new brands and trends Amazon will also launch an exclusive Georg Jensen and Gemfields collaboration.
