Worcester-based Anja Potze Fine Jewellery has donated £30,000 to a breast cancer charity.

Throughout the year the independent fine jeweller has been raising money in support of the Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven.

Now the jeweller has been able to present a cheque for £30,000, which will be spent on a new state-of-the-art portable ultrasound machine.

The machine will allow the charity’s consultants greater ability to reach more patients in Worcestershire by offering increased flexibility as to where and how breast disease can be detected.

Namesake jewellery store owner, Anja Potze, tells local press Worcester News: “As a Worcester city centre business with customers from across the whole county, I meet a lot of people who have been affected in some way by breast cancer and who have been patients at the Unit.

“The Worcestershire Breast Unit is a vital part of the health of our community and we must all support its services. I understand from Mr Thrush and his team that this new piece of technology will assist in that.”

The jewellery story has been support the Breast Unit since it launched almost four years ago.

In the community Anja Potze is known as a business which gives back and has won several accolades that acknowledge this.
