Fashion icon partners with high street store for costume jewel range.
H&M’s latest guest designer collection created with Vogue Japan fashion director at large Anna Dello Russo will include jewellery.
The collection designed by Dello Russo has been limited to accessories, including jewellery, with the fashion icon claiming she has created pieces “that are impossible to find”. The range, which will hit 140 H&M stores in October, will also include sunglasses, shoes and bags.
The jewellery that Dello Russo has helped to design for H&M features turquoise-coloured stones, gold-coloured metals and black accents. There are large statement cuffs, including many in the shape of a snakes and lizards, plus oversized earrings and attention-grabbing neckpieces.
Dello Russo said: “This is the first time H&M involves a fashion director in a special project. This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion, and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it.
“I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find. As a stylist I know accessorisation is essential; it is the personal touch to any outfit. With these pieces everybody can have fun, turning an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day.”
Dello Russo worked closely with H&M creative advisor Margareta van den Bosch on the range, who described working with the fashion leader as “something completely different to what we have done before”.
Van den Bosch added: “Anna has a fantastic eye and a strong taste, apart from being a veritable fashion icon. She produced an extravagant range of accessories that will get H&M customers and everyone in love with fashion excited. The collection is a celebration of excess, fantasy and decoration.”
