Online retailer to launch shopping platform on social network
Online fashion, accessories and beauty retailer ASOS.com will unveil the first fully integrated Facebook store this month.
The new integrated Facebook application, powered by Usablenet’s platform, will combine shopping and social media, and will extend full e-commerce functionality to the ASOS Facebook community. It will allow jewellery brands to be bought through Facebook and reach a larger demographic of shoppers.
Customers will be able to shop the entire ASOS product range, which expands by approximately 1,300 new product lines each week, through the Facebook Store using their existing ASOS account.
With eleven million unique visits per month and a following of almost to 400,000 on Facebook, ASOS aims to offer all customers the opportunity to buy, share and comment on items without needing to leave the social networking site.
Developed by the ASOS User Experience team, the ASOS Facebook Store will include the ability to undertake transactions, a search facility, a like and share function, a space to review products and social discoverability via news feeds and products pages. An order tracking service is also enabled.
Current jewellery brands sold through ASOS include Stephen Webster, Dogeared, Zoe & Morgan, Kenneth Jay Lane, Scott Wilson and Lola Rose. Alex Monroe and Monica Vinader have also been sold on the site. Watch brands include Armani, Boss Watches, Casio, D&G, Jaeger LeCoultre, Longines and Omega.
