ASTRA is now looking for a distributor to help replicate its New Zealand success in the UK market.

The announcement comes after enjoying growth in its home market over the past 12 months, with sales increasing across the board for the brand’s stockists.

With year-on- year growth of 136% in its home market, the jewellery brand has successfully expanded within the Australian market and has recently launched in Germany and the US.


Astra is becoming New Zealand’s fastest growing jewellery brand. In Wellington, Astra’s home city, the mayor is shortly set to meet the brand in recognition of being the first Australasian company to perform so powerfully on the world stage.

Speaking about the brand’s plans for international growth, ASTRA’s creative director James Hu said: “We are looking forward to what the future has in store for our brand. The strong demand and rapid growth we have experienced in overseas markets has resulted in ASTRA becoming an upcoming name to watch in the jewellery industry. We are now looking for a local distributor to support our business and maximise the brand’s commercial potential in the UK market.”

The brand’s four current collections Maya, Stella, Freedom and Leda all include charm pendants, rings, earrings and bangles. Made in a combination of silver and gold plate, retail prices start from £60.

ASTRA won the CMJ’s Dragon’s Den contest earlier this year, winning the most votes from CMJ retailers as the most commercial jewellery brand on show at the Company of Master Jeweller’s Spring trade event and exhibited for the first time at Inhorgenta Munich in February.
