New Zealand brand Astra Jewellery has launched a collection of Celtic-inspired designs specifically for retailers in Ireland.
The Astra Celtic collection features a Claddagh Heart design, which symbolises love, loyalty and friendship. The traditional Claddagh Heart motif has been a symbol of friendship, or given as an engagement or wedding ring in Ireland, for hundreds of years. The hands represent friendship, while the heart represents love crowned with loyalty.
The new range also includes pieces inspired by the ancient Irish Children of Lir legend, which tells a story of the strength of family despite great challenges. With graceful swans and four stones to represent the four children of Lir, Astra’s Children of Lir collection captures the magic of Irish tradition in a symbol of family, loyalty and love.
Both designs are available as a pendant or stud earrings in silver or a combination of silver with rose-gold plate.
Richard Bulgin, sales and marketing director of Jos Von Arx Ltd, which distributes Astra in the UK and Ireland, comments: “We are keen to support our Irish retailers and the beauty of working with Astra is that they can respond to specific customer demands to create specific designs that we know will be popular.
“Irish retailers have really bought into the Celtic designs, which are already selling through very well, so we hope to develop this concept even further going forward.”
Astra launched into the UK market last year and was an instant success, opening doors up and down the country.
Today, Astra is in over 100 stores nationwide.
