Astrid & Miyu opens entries to third Business Accelerator Programme

The founder of British jewellery success story, Astrid & Miyu, has announced the launch of her third Business Accelerator Programme.

Connie Nam will lead the programme, which is open to all new consumer focused brands with an e-commerce facility and aims to support independent businesses looking to establish their name in UK retail.

The third initiative comes after she launched two programmes last year – one to help companies as lockdowns affected business in early 2020 and one to support black-owned businesses.

During this year’s four-month long programme, up to seven founders will receive three one-to-one mentorship sessions with a member of Astrid & Miyu’s leadership team, access to the brand’s other mentors for additional support and advice, networking opportunities with other brand mentees and industry professionals and exclusive guest speaker events with industry professionals.

On the launch, Nam said: “Given the tough retail environment of late and the success of last year’s Business Accelerator Programmes, we thought it was only fitting to relaunch the programme to support those starting out on their business journeys or looking to grow in 2021. Starting your own business is never easy, let alone doing so at the tail-end of a global pandemic and after a shift in consumer behaviours.

“I know from my own first-hand experience what it is like building up a business and I hope that many budding entrepreneurs will join us to learn from my experiences encountered as I launched the Astrid & Miyu brand eight years ago. The group of mentors we have this year is our strongest and most diverse yet, with additional experts to last year’s and I know each and every one of them is excited to coach this year’s candidates. We were blown away by the response to the programme last year and we look forward to reading all of this year’s in due course.”
