AWDC takes sponsorship of Antwerp Diamond Fair

Centre increases support of invitation-only event

The Antwerp World Diamond Centre (AWDC) has announced it will be the main sponsor and patron at the Antwerp Diamond Trade Fair 2011.

The fair commences on January 30, and sees the AWDC – the coordinating body and official representative of the Antwerp diamond sector – increase their support of the fair, following their sponsorship at the "premier edition" of the fair earlier this month.

The AWDC’s deputy chief executive Ari Epstein said: "By initiating this unique fair, the Antwerp Diamond Bourse and the Diamond Club of Antwerp have offered solid proof that an exclusive international diamond trade show in our own city can be not just successful, but also present a great marketing opportunity for Antwerp’s diamond sector at large."

The Antwerp fair, which is an invitation-only event, will be opening its doors for the second time at the 150-year-old Bourse venue. It will be welcoming retailers from outside of Europe for the first time, and sees an additional 20 diamond companies attending bringing the total number on show 60. The AWDC expects "jewellery designers and manufacturers from a variety of countries."

The official website states: "Buyers will find that the goods on offer are unobtainable in the rest of the diamond world. They are offered at competitive prices, while service, speed of shipping and delivery are world class." It is also tipped as an ideal fair to "find new sources and forge new contacts."
