The British Academy of Jewellers (BAJ) is set to hold a charity Valentine’s Auction in late January in support of the Stephen Lawrence Trust.

The auction will feature pieces created and donated by BAJ students, as well as professional jewellers, and will run 21 January until 1 February, 2021.

The BAJ is open to donations of pieces from jewellers who would like to help raise money for the fund.

The Stephen Lawrence Trust was founded in 1998 and seeks to combat inequality at all levels of society, fighting for equal access and opportunities for everyone.

It works with young people, aged 13 to 30, from disadvantaged backgrounds, and aims to equip and inspire them to succeed in the career of their choice.

“2020 has been a challenging year for many of us, but it has also made us keenly aware of the importance of solidarity and of working together to have a positive impact on the world around us,” said Kate Rieppel, head of academy at the British Academy of Jewellery.

She continued: “BAJ is proud to be able to support the invaluable work of the Stephen Lawrence Trust with our Valentine’s Auction.”

This is the second BAJ philanthropic initiative in recent months. In October it raised money for NHS Charities Together with the sale of its ‘Pins of Praise’. Read more below:
