Brand unveils stellar-themed advent countdown of gifts and surprises.
Watch brand Baume & Mercier, which recently overhauled its collections, is celebrating a “rapid rise” on the social networks with a 24-day long advent countdown hosted on its Facebook fan page.
The brand has invited its 214,000 followers to take part in a daily update to the page, where 24 stars will slowly appear – one each day – revealing “surprises, gifts, or fascinating details about the heritage, savoir-faire, and collections of the Maison d’Horlogerie”.
Baume & Mercier’s chief executive Alain Zimmerman has said the Facebook advent calendar is a way to develop closer relationships with its fans. “Our goal is to further strengthen the relationship we have with our fans, one of listening and sharing," he said.
"This operation is also for the company, as it’s a great way to thank everyone for their continuing commitment to Baume & Mercier, and to celebrate the holiday season with them. Lastly, I hope this new operation will be our chance to attract new fans who want to know even more about our brand and company."
So far the brand has unveiled sneak previews of 2012 timepieces, fan videos and snippets of Baume & Mercier’s history.
