Central Saint Martins student turns to Tanzania for inspiration.
As part of Central Saint Martins’ Neutopia jewellery catwalk show held in March, Japanese-born Yona Kato sent a model down the runway wearing her Chameleon neckpiece.
The neckpiece is inspired by her time spent living and studying in Tanzania.
The bright, textured design was formed using a mix of natural materials including sisal, wire, garnet gemstones and balloons that were knotted and knitted into layers.
Last year Yona won a prize from Swarovski for her jewellery interpretation on the theme glamour.
