The UK’s oldest surviving precious metal refining and dealing business, Betts Group, has made moves to strengthen its national business development team with a new senior appointment.

Peter Green, bringing more than four decades of industry experience, has joined the family-run firm as business development manager.

He takes responsibility for the expansion of the Group’s wedding rings business, as well as for sales of its responsibly sourced bullion and investment products.

Joining from Baird and Co in Hatton Garden, Green will work with new and existing customers to showcase Betts’ comprehensive stock of British-made wedding rings.

Before his 16 years at Baird & Co he spent almost 20 years in management with gold bullion dealer, J Blundell & Sons.

Peter Green said: “I’m thrilled to join such a well-known and respected family business. I have been in the trade for a considerable time and having come from a production background, I know that there are very few refiners who can offer what Betts can.

“I look forward to supporting the company in generating interest in its comprehensive range of SMO wedding rings, bullion and investment products.”

Betts Group managing director, Charlie Betts, added: “We’re pleased to have appointed someone of Peter’s vast experience during an exciting period for our business.

“Our core ethos of integrity and quality of service, and our focus on precious metal expertise remain the cornerstones of the Group and Peter perfectly embodies our approach.

“He will play a key role in helping us to develop our wedding rings sales, where we believe we have a compelling story to tell.

“All of our rings are CNC engineered and made using SMO gold, making them the highest quality and most responsibly sourced products of their kind on the market.”
