Brand says silver range follows growing demand from UK-wide retailers.

Costume jewellery brand Bill Skinner has made a move into sterling silver, launching its first fine collection following increasing demand from its customer base.

The silver collection features several of Bill Skinner’s bestsellers, including its cherub drop earrings, and new styles adapted from its classic designs including its honeycomb and bees lines.

The brand’s eponymous founder and Hot 100 Trendsetter Bill Skinner told Professional Jeweller: "The decision to move into the silver market seemed like a natural progression for the brand. We have grown significantly since we launched two years ago, opening our second shop this Christmas.

"Our silver collection will allow us to grow our market presence further and work with jewellers and customers who only buy precious jewellery that we might not otherwise have had the opportunity to work with. Indeed, we believe our silver range offers jewellers the opportunity to sell a range of beautifully carved silver that is very unique."

Skinner says the company has won growing interest from customers seeking its designs in silver. In a bid to make sure the range differs enough from its costume collections, the silver range is finer and more delicate but with the detail and intricacy that Skinner says is so important to him.

Skinner told Professional Jeweller that the resulting collection of 30 pieces is larger he had anticipated, but that he "just couldn’t say no to some of the designs". Its wholesale prices start at £24.10.
