Six months spent filming The Million Pound Necklace: Inside Boodles.
Boodles will appear on Channel 4 this weekend in an hour-long documentary focused on the creation of a million-pound diamond and emerald necklace.
The fly-on-the-wall documentary was created by the same team that produced TV series Inside Claridges, but this time takes a closer look at the making of Boodles fine jewellery. Titled The Million Pound Necklace: Inside Boodles, it will air on Channel 4 on March 23.
The documentary was filmed over six months, capturing the detail and craftsmanship of fine jewellery making. The programme follows the creation of the Boodles emerald Greenfire necklace, from sourcing its loose stones, to design, creation and its launch; shadowing the company’s four directors and family members Nicholas Wainwright, Michael Wainwright, Jody Wainwright and James Amos.
Boodles director and head of stone sourcing Jody Wainwright said: "We are delighted to be sharing our story through this documentary and hope that it will provide an interesting insight into the, sometimes mysterious, world of fine jewellery. Our Greenfire suite, created using the finest emeralds from the Columbian Muzo mines, is one of the most ambitious and valuable collections that we have embarked upon, so we were thrilled that Channel 4 were there to capture our journey."
Inside Boodles: The Million Pound Necklace will air on Channel 4 on Sunday March 23 at 8pm and on 4Seven on March 24, 25 and 27, as well as Channel 4 online service 4oD.
