British Museum responds to costume jewellery boom with new collection

British Museum

A new collection of costume jewellery has been launched in the British Museum’s Grenville Room shop to respond to a rising demand for statement, semi-precious gemstone pieces.

The new range includes earrings, pendants and brooches designed and made in South Korea, inspired by traditional Korean florals. Highlights include a grey agate pendant with labradorite and metal details presented on a removable silk covered cord necklace. The piece also functions as a brooch and has an RRP of £225.

Other pendants feature lapis, red agate, freshwater pearls, jade, coral and white and green jade.
