The British Society of Enamellers announces jeweller as new vice-chair

The British Society of Enamellers (BSOE) has appointed silversmith and enameller Monika Kamycka, as its new vice-chair.

The BSOE will be announcing further changes to its Board over the coming months, with Monika Kamycka joining the senior leadership team, focused on the continued promotion of British Enamelling excellence across the UK and beyond.

Commenting on her appointment, Kamycka, who is the owner of contemporary jewellery brand Mona Pink, remarks: “I’m pleased and proud to have been appointed as vice-chair, just a couple of months after having joined the Board as a committee member at the March AGM. I was very motivated to join the Board, at a time when we have many exciting initiatives planned for 2018-19.

“I am also very much looking forward to working closely together with other members of the committee and the society to further elevate the status of enamel in modern jewellery.”

Kamycka employs the highly specialist and delicate skill of plique-a-Jour enamelling in her Art Nouveau inspired Argentium Silver range and is a passionate advocate of enamelling education and promotion.

“This is a pivotal time for the entire jewellery trade and I am excited about the role the BSOE might have to play,” Kamycka adds. “Enamelling is an art form that is extremely close to my heart. I hope that the passion I have for it, is demonstrated through the jewellery that I design. I intend to bring this passion and pride to my new role as part of the BSOE.”

“The BSOE is very happy, firstly to welcome Monika to the executive committee but especially to announce her election as vice-chair,” shares BSOE founder, Maureen Carswell. “As well as being a talented enameller, she brings great organisational skills to the role and we look forward to a splendid year of progress in all aspects of society administration and promotion.”

The BSOE has a broad membership, encompassing levels of expertise from enamel students to professional level enamellers. Its aim is to promote the highest standards of contemporary design and workmanship in all aspects of this unique medium.
