Fashion jewellery brand, byBiehl, has launched its first collection in 100% recycled silver and gold.

Moving forward with its green ambitions, the brand has stated that all future collections will be produced in metals that existed before the designs.

byBiehl founder Charlotte Biehl, explains: “Now a days all accessible gold is extracted. What is left is the gold that requires massive resources and way too much chemistry. Therefore, the only right thing is to recycle the gold and silver that already exists. It’s just as real as new gold.”

The mining industry is said to be one of the most pollutant in the world – with the process of extracting gold causing great consequences for humans, wildlife and the environment.

While the process of recycling gold and silver is also a demanding one, it can more easily be controlled.

The manufacturer of byBiehl is a certified member of the Responsible Jewelry Council, which requires accountability in all processes.

“I am not holy, but I would like to be reasonable. And this shift marks sense,” continues Biehl. “Gold and silver are valuable and should be treated with consideration. This is also why all my designs are personal. A jewellery with a message is typical one you will be happy about for a longer period. Ideally for the rest of the life.”

The new byBiehl collection in 100% recycled silver and gold, consists of designs from the bestselling Jungle Ivy and Wave lines.

This moves follows the announcement that Pandora will craft all of its jewellery from recycled metals by 2025.
