The old Fitzgerald Jewellers site

Canterbury’s Fitzgerald Jewellers has unveiled plans to open its new store next Monday, 29 November 2021.

The independent jeweller revealed that the new premises will be more than four times the size of its current site, which sits next door, and represents the business’ plans to expand upon its current business plan.

Combining an on-site workshop with a host of curated jewellery and watch brands, the new “department-style store” is intended to offer an experience unique to Fitzgerald Jewellers, the company stated in a press release.

The move comes as Fitzgerald Jewellers celebrates its 20th anniversary.

Trevor Fitzgerald said: “We’re really proud to be embarking on this move as we reach such a significant milestone.”

He opened Fitzgerald Jewellers in 2001. Since this time, he has gone on to open five more jewellery shops, with even more in the pipeline.

The four-month refit has been designed in house, the company confirmed, and completed by a team of local, independent tradesmen.

With an increased emphasis on the in-store experience, manager Olivia Stewart-Stead commented: “Shopping needs to be so much more of an experience now. People need a reason to leave their house after months of shopping online. With our new and improved in-store experience, we’re giving customers a reason to visit us.”
