Brand marks arrival with limited edition jewellery set.
Colourful man-made gemstone jewellery brand Carat* has this week launched in London’s Harrods, marking the occasion – and celebrating its fifteenth UK stockist – with a special limited edition collection of man-made emerald jewellery.
Harrods’ dedicated jewellery room will stock 10 sets of the created emerald and diamond jewellery, which includes drop earrings and a matching dress ring.
On Sunday the brand will be official sponsor of the BAFTA Television Awards, dressing a number of celebrity attendees on the night with suites of man-made diamond jewellery.
The brand has already built a celebrity following, including radio presenter Lisa Snowdon, singer Michelle Williams and the cast of Gossip Girl. Carat* aims to bring fantasy to reality with jewellery that its founder Scott Thompson describes as "a little bit tongue in cheek but with vast appeal."
Each of the larger gemstones, like the ones featured in the limited edition pieces, are hand cut by lapidaries, and all of the stones are set into silver or otherwise 9ct white or yellow gold.
The limited edition Harrods pieces will retail at £266 for the ring and £350 for the earrings.
To date, Carat* has 15 stockists in the UK, including numerous stand alones in London, Leeds and Bluewater in Kent. The brand is also stocked at independent retailers including Steffans, Preston & Duckworth, ISIS Jewellery and Victoria Fine Jewellery.
