Diamond-themed jewellery show to take place at Masterpiece.

Masterpiece London 2012 is set to host a specially curated diamond exhibition in celebration of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee entitled Brilliant, curated by Vogue’s jewellery editor and author Carol Woolton.

The exhibition is said to be the first of its kind to be undertaken by the fair, and will offer “all visitors a visually arresting and intimate experience” focused on diamonds.

The show launches on June 28, running until July 4, and will be housed in the grounds of The Royal Hospital in Chelsea, London.

Brilliant will showcase a number of never-before-seen jewellery designs and objets d’art, as well as performance art featuring diamonds and several one-off pieces.

Woolton has structured the diamond exhibit according to four artistic disciplines – art, architecture, fashion and sculpture. She has designed the show “to provoke surprise and discussion about the role of the world’s most coveted gems”.

Brands and fine jewellery houses including including Harry Winston, Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, George Jensen, Solange Azagury-Partridge, Dior, and Tiffany & Co are just some that will feature.

Woolton said: “With the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee putting a spotlight on the Crown Jewels and historic royal regalia, “Brilliant” will show how diamonds, imbued with their own billion year old history and majestic role in Britain’s heritage, remain relevant in our modern lives and at the forefront of ground-breaking contemporary design”.
