Award-winning jewellery brand Alyssa Smith has witnessed a surge in sales since providing jewellery for a celebrity engagement party.
Coronation Street’s Faye Brooks, and singer, Gareth Gates, asked the jewellery brand to make a bracelet for the bride-to-be, alongside pieces for their engagement party goody bags.
This news was kept top secret until OK! Magazine published a six-page splash of the engagement party, where Faye Brooks wore the bracelet in every photo, and the brand got a shout-out for the rose gold angel feather necklaces given to guests in the goody bags.
This is not the first time Alyssa Smith has made jewellery for Gareth Gates, but the public recognition this time has bolstered business for the brand, which turned around every piece in one day for the celebrity couple.
The brand’s namesake founder told Professional Jeweller yesterday: “We’ve been flooded with orders since this morning for the jewellery – the mention plus all the pics in OK magazine has been worth its weight in gold already! It’s funny to think that a business started 10 years ago in Baldock on my bedroom floor is now being worn, and chosen to be worn – we didn’t pay them for this – in a national weekly mag!!
She adds about the pieces provided: “The jewellery boxes were filled with sparkles and a hand written, hand tied with string note inside each box, and the matching rose gold angel feather bracelet for Faye – which we made a smaller size than normal as she has petite wrists – it was finished off with our Alyssa Smith heart at the clasp. They call each other ‘my angel’ so the designs were perfect and personal to their story together.”
Alyssa Smith has harness the power of social media to capitalise on this exposure – sharing the news and images of the mag online.
This year the brand has grown its Facebook community to just under 800,000, and has relocated to a bigger location in the UK as the business continues to go from strength-to-strength.
