Award winner will gain six months access to Centrepunch’s workshop.
Lambeth-based training hub Centrepunch are continuing their support of new jewellery and goldsmithing graduates by presenting a prize at the up-coming New Designers Show.
The criterion for applying for the award is described as a “commercially viable product and business ready designer-maker. The recipient needs to be able to make use of the Centrepunch facilities on a regular basis during the award period,” according to an official statement.
The prize includes six months access to Centrepunch’s South London workshop and free membership.
Director of education and training, Beaulagh Brooks, said "Centrepunch is keen to promote design and technical skills and we take any opportunity we can to celebrate creative talent coming into our industry. That’s why we are looking forward to the prospect of supporting the exciting work on show at the Business Design Centre again this year".
Brooks continued: "Our bright and spacious workshop facilities are some of the best in London and are ideal for graduates wanting to complete commissions or continue into professional practice without huge set-up costs. So 6 months of free workshop use for our prize winner will be an inspiration and incredibly helpful."
The Centrepunch studios, situated just 20 minutes from the centre of town in West Norwood, provide a full range of Silversmithing and Jewellery short courses, alongside flexible bench-space hire and their innovative Bursary scheme.
New Designers will take place in two parts from June 25 to 28 and July 2 to 5.
