Gaetano Cavalieri will hand out awards to 2012 gemmology graduates.

The Gemmological Association of Great Britain (Gem-A) is set to hold its graduation ceremony and student awards next month, with the World Jewellery Federation’s (CIBJO) president Gaetano Cavalieri set to hand over the awards.

The ceremony will take place at Goldsmiths Hall next month, toasting the success of Gem-A’s 2012 students who have achieved FGA or DGA status over the past year.

Cavalieri is set to address the graduates at the ceremony, speaking about his path into the jewellery and gemstone trade and the events that have lead him to his current position at the helm of CIBJO.

He is also set to emphasise the importance of education and ethics in the future of the trade, and will discuss how CIBJO and Gem-A are working with the N.A.G. and BJA to increase social corporate responsibility through the N.A.G’s Ethics Working Party.

The ceremony will take place on the evening of the third day of the Gem-A Conference, which runs from Saturday November 3 to Tuesday November 6.
