CMJ executive Sarah Carpin falls ill at Vicenza

Company’s executive collapses at airport following Italian trade show

Sarah Carpin, executive at the Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) has been taken ill in Italy on her return from the Vicenza Fair.

Speaking of the incident, CMJ chief executive Willie Hamilton said: "Yesterday I was informed that Sarah Carpin collapsed at Venice airport when returning from the Vicenza Fair in Italy. Sarah was rushed to hospital and was admitted for surgery last night to have an operation on her appendix. I’m sure you will all join me in wishing Sarah a full, speedy recovery."

Carpin is said to be in hospital in Venice, having undergone a "successful" operation. She is expected to remain in hospital for at least seven days until she is well enough to return to the UK.
