CMJ picks up bill for members’ hotel stay following feedback over ‘unseen’ costs

The Company of Master Jewellers has launched an incentive for all members visiting the buying group’s upcoming spring trade event.

Any retailer who attends the show, which is running at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel from Sunday, February 17 – Monday, February 18, will receive one hotel room, totally free of charge.

The incentive follows feedback from members about the ‘unseen’ costs of leaving their business to attend trade shows.

The CMJ team launched the initiative to support their retailers and to ensure that suppliers also benefit from as many members as possible being able to engage fully over the two days of the spring trade exhibition.

CMJ chief executive officer, Terry Boot, shares: “Trade exhibitions everywhere are facing challenging times, in all sectors. However, the CMJ event is unique because it is compact and we know our members value it on two very clear levels.

“Retailers who attend come ready to deal and our suppliers offer compelling reasons to buy. We also know that all members truly value the networking aspect and the overnight stay is integral to that.”

The spring trade event will include a talk from educational and inspirational speaker, David Meade, alongside a networking dinner. The CMJ says it is “guaranteed to be thought-provoking and motivational evening”.

This year, selected suppliers have exclusive offers, which are only available for retailers who attend the event. Members will soon be receiving communications outlining exactly which suppliers are offering exclusive products, terms and discounts.

Retailers wishing to take advantage of the free hotel offer can book their place via the hotel link on the CMJ website. Retailers who have already purchased a room will be credited after the event.
