Professional Jeweller is excited to announce the opening of the fourth annual Collections of the Year awards, showcasing the best ranges launched in 2017 across 10 exciting categories.

Collections of the Year is open to all jewellery brands operating at a wholesale level in the UK, welcoming nominations for this year’s best-selling or most inspiring ranges to be part of a special December 2017 issue of the magazine.

The Collections of the Year will present 50 stunning jewellery ranges, with 10 brands and designers set to be crowned the 2016 Collections of the Year winners in their specific jewellery categories.

Four finalists and one overall winner will be announced for the following categories: Luxury Jewellery, Accessible Fine Jewellery, Fashion Jewellery, Bridal Jewellery, Silver Jewellery, Men’s Jewellery, Pearl Jewellery, Personalised Jewellery, Emerging Designers and Ethical Jewellery.

Once the 10 overall winners and 40 finalists have been decided Professional Jewellerwill present the results in the December 2017 issue; showcasing imagery alongside a description of each collections’ merits.

Last year’s winners were Andrew Geoghegan (Luxury Jewellery); Hockley Mint (Bridal Jewellery); Chrysalis (Fashion Jewellery); Alex Monroe (Accessible Fine Jewellery); Fei Liu (Pearl Jewellery); Muru (Silver Jewellery); Lily Gabriella Jewellery (Emerging Designer); Buckley London (Personalised Jewellery); Unique & Co (Men’s Jewellery); and Cred (Ethical Jewellery).

Perfectly placed to mark the close of 2017, the Collections of the Year will celebrate the best-selling ranges in the UK, from the past 12 months. The project will take into account the opinions of knowledgeable jewellery retail buyers, brand managers and key tastemakers from the UK jewellery industry, rather than the end consumer, providing a clear guide of inspiring designs and which collections have been selling strongly in stores.

Professional Jeweller is seeking to showcase cohesive collections that span a variety of pieces, including rings, earrings, necklaces, pendants and bracelets.

Editor Stacey Hailes comments: “The team were overwhelmed with nominations last year and we are really looking forward to seeing what collections are recommended for 2017 as it has certainly been an exciting year for jewellery designs.

“If a collection has caught your eye at any of the trade shows taking place in the UK and internationally, and you want to sing its praises, now is the time to show your appreciation by nominating your favourite or bestselling ranges of the year. The nominations are open to all types of brands, from catwalk-centred and contemporary collections, to unbranded lines.

“We also want to hear which ranges have been your top-performing collections in the past 12 months.”

The nominations process will be open to all members of the industry, with retailers encouraged to highlight their bestselling collections of 2017 by nominating a range for each of the 10 categories. Similarly, brands and designer-makers will be able to nominate their own collections and those launched by their peers.

Please download this form to nominate: Collections of the Year form

Once filled in, the completed form can be emailed to Professional Jeweller’s editor (

If possible please include a high res image of the collections.

The deadline for entries is Friday October 27 2017, giving all interested parties ample time to send their nominations to the team.

Entrants will be asked to nominate just one collection per category. However, it is possible to nominate the same brand or designer for multiple categories as long as they have a dedicated collection that suits the conditions of the category.

Collections that launched prior to January 1 2017 will not be considered. Collections chosen as overall winners and finalists will not necessarily be based on overall sales and as such we encourage independent designer-makers to put forward their designs.
