A man who was stopped on the M1 motorway in Northamptonshire was discovered to be travelling with hundreds of items of counterfeit jewellery, as reported by the Northampton Chronicle.

Jinboa Zhang, 27, is accused of being a wholesale importer of £500,000 of fake goods from China.

Northampton Crown Court heard Zhang was travelling in a VW Passat van with a co-defendant, who has since disappeared, on August 21 last year. The van was found to contain hundreds of pieces of fake jewellery.

Zhang, of Aftoun Street, Manchester, denies nine charges of possessing goods with false trademarks including Chanel, Juicy Couture, Louis Vuitton and Tiffany. He denies knowing the goods were counterfeit and will stand trial in January.
