Devonshire jeweller and Goldsmith Isabella Day has been named in a list of the top 100 female entrepreneurs of the year.

The Torquay-based designer who specialises in rare Japanese kinko metalwork has been named in the f:Entrepreneur #ialso100 campaign from Small Business Britain.

Founder of the campaign, Michelle Ovens, said: “The brilliant female entrepreneurs featured in this year’s #ialso100 are nothing short of phenomenal.

“All over the UK incredible women are running businesses with a huge sense of mission and passion behind them.

“They are adding value to society and the economy, while supporting their communities and peers.

“It is so vital that we recognise and celebrate the powerful contribution of women running businesses across the UK.

“The last few years have been hugely challenging for small businesses, yet despite this female entrepreneurship continues to grow and flourish in the UK.

“We must continue to nurture and protect this spirit, as these businesses will undoubtedly be at the heart of driving the UK’s recovery.”

Day creates custom jewellery from a studio in Torquay stately home Cockington Court.

She is due to open a new Dartmouth studio in March of this year.
