London retailer will offer designers a meet-and-greet with its buyers.
London retailer EC One has announced plans to host a day of meet-and-greets with its buyers, offering jewellery designers the chance to introduce their collections to EC One, with the potential of being stocked at the company’s Clerkenwell and Notting Hill stores.
The event, called Designer Open Call, was thought up by EC One’s head buyer and co-founder Alison Skeates, who will meet designers with her assistant buyer Rainy Hanson during the one-day event on June 26, from 10am – 1pm.
EC One hopes that the Open Call day to encourage jewellery designers to approach them in a more informal, face-to-face setting. The event will be held at EC One’s store on London’s Exmouth Market, and Skeates and Hanson have said that no formal appointments will be made, to keep things flexible.
Instead, every designer who comes to the Designer Open Call will be allowed a slot of no more than 10 minutes to impress Skeates and Hanson, but are encouraged to email in advance to introduce themselves via firstname.lastname@example.org.
Those interested in taking part should bring with them no more than 10 pieces of jewellery from their collection, a wholesale linesheet, contact details and a disc of their jewellery images if available. More details can be gained from contacting Rainy Hanson on the email@example.com email address.
