Why don’t we say it all together now? “I can’t believe its 2019 already?”
Time really does fly and once again we are at the start of a brand new year.
I’m not a lover of New Year and the pressure to make a list of resolutions I am no doubt going to fail to achieve over the next 12 months. But I do like the sentiment behind it.
It’s an opportunity to draw a line under one year, and look towards another. It’s a chance to look ahead with fresh eyes and press the restart button.
Personally my New Year’s resolutions include finally doing that colour run I’ve been putting off for a couple of years now, and saying ‘yes’ to new adventures (even the ones that scare me), and spending some more time looking after myself.
The last one is key. Quite often we let life run one hundred miles an hour and we don’t stop for breath. For me, I look at my calendar at the beginning of each month and I can’t believe how full it is. It’s time to get a better balance between work and life — and also between being active and chilled.
If I manage to achieve this New Year’s resolution, I will reap the rewards at work as well, where I am hoping to continue to see ProfessionalJeweller.com’s stats rise and increase the print circulation to make sure every industry professional is reading the UK’s number one trade title.
As I look back at 2018, I am proud of how Professional Jeweller has performed, but there’s always room for improvement.
What about you? What New Year’s resolutions have you set? Have you made sure to set business and personal goals? Because often the two intertwine.
How are you feeling this month? Do you feel as if you are at the beginning of a new year filled with exciting opportunities and possibilities? Or is the, dare I say it, ‘B’ word filling you with complete dread?
No matter your stance, it’s January, so it means it is time to take stock and plan for a profitable year.
It’s good to set goals and dream big, while also remaining realistic. If your looking ahead to the year worried it’s going to be all doom and gloom make sure you read our round-up of the industry’s greatest achievements of the last 12 months.
Everyone would agree 2018 was by no means easy, in fact many retail giants described it has the most challenging year yet, but in the midst of difficult times companies in the jewellery trade still managed to deliver an exemplary customer service, win local awards, open new stores, and bolster business.
We here at Professional Jeweller really do hope every single one of our readers has an amazing year, and we can’t wait to celebrate your achievements along the way.
