London jeweller Taylor & Hart has reported a significant spike in its engagement ring sales in the month of July.

The jeweller reported that July can often be a “quiet month” for proposals, but 2020 has bucked the trend.

July 2020 engagement ring sales at Taylor & Hart are reportedly up 82% compared to the same month last year.

The retailer said this was particularly impressive due to the heavy focus it places on online sales.

Earlier this month, Taylor & Hart CEO, Nikolay Piriankov, spoke with Professional Jeweller about how the company has adapted to the ‘new normal’.

“Last year we had a turnover of £5.3 million and we were expecting to excel this figure two-fold by the end of 2020,” said Piriankov.

While the year may not have panned out quite as the CEO expected, it has still proven successful for Taylor & Hart.
