Euro Pearls appoints industry veteran to business development director role

Euro Pearls has announced that Barrie Dobson has been appointed as the firm’s business development director.

Dobson, who will begin his new position at the start of August, will be charged with developing the company’s business in the UK as part of a wider reinvigoration of the company.

He comes equipped with more than 40 years industry experience, including roles in manufacturing wholesale and retail, and is also a non-executive supplier director with the Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ).

The role will see Dobson take responsibility for nurturing new business opportunities and overseeing the implementation of new strategies to drive awareness of the company and its services.

Speaking about his appointment, Dobson says: “I am delighted to be joining the Euro Pearls team and am thrilled to have the opportunity to spearhead a new chapter for the company.

“I look forward to meeting customers, old and new, at the IJL fair in September, where Euro Pearls will be exhibiting.”

Euro Pearls is a third-generation family run company and was established in 1973, remaining one of the world’s leading wholesale pearl companies today.

It has recently moved into a brand-new space in Kirby Street, Hatton Garden, which houses the head office and workshop.

A range of services are available on site including a wide variety of loose pearls and strands, unbranded pearl jewellery, jewellery repairs, pearl matching and drilling, and restringing.
