Fabergé summons Beetlejuice with new collection

The juice is loose with Fabergé’s latest collaboration

Fabergé has opened the lid on a ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ branded collaboration, in time for the much-anticipated Warner Bros film’s release.

The new collection pays homage to Tim Burton’s 1988 original film, and was brought to life through three co-designers and leaders in the creative industry.

Colleen Atwood, an Oscar-winning costume designer and long-time collaborator of Burton’s, teamed up with Fabergé head of design Liisa Tallgren and creative director Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell to bring the collaboration to life.

The collection comprises 18k white gold earrings, lapel pins, pendants, collar bars and rings, inspired by the shape of a spiral – a recurring motif from Burton’s filmography.

Each piece features an ethically-mined Gemfields emerald or ruby, cut to be round, oval or pear-shaped.

Fabergé’s iconic egg symbol is expressed through the Fabergé x Beetlejuice Beetlejuice White Gold Spiral Egg Drop Earrings and Pendants.

Josina von dem Bussche-Kessell says: “In every partnership we forge, we look for like-minded care and attention to creativity and a fearless commitment to challenging the status quo, and in the process, offer something unexpected and surprising.

“Colleen and Tim are true innovators and creative geniuses in their storytelling, and together we have created a collection which is modern and humorous and pays homage to their work on the big screen.

“It has been an extremely harmonious collaboration, filled with pure joy all the way. I am very proud of what we’ve achieved together.”

Colleen Atwood added: “I have always considered Fabergé to be like a beautiful piece of art. I feel honoured to be partnering with Fabergé because I have always admired their creations, I really can’t believe I’m part of something so perfectly attuned to design and craft, and it has been such fun to see it all come together.

“Costume design and Fabergé go together like kindred spirits. Both are constantly changing and evolving, and each uses classic technology alongside more innovative techniques in the creative process with the ultimate goal of creating beauty and bringing joy to others.

“A quirky sense of fun is reflected in this collection and the hypnotic spirals and characterful motifs epitomise the spirit of ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’.”

‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ is in cinemas now, and earned a whopping $145m (£111m) at the global box office in its opening weekend.
