Fellows launches virtual valuation day in response to high demand

Following high demand, Fellows Auctioneers has launched a virtual valuation service.

The family-run auction house’s specialist valuation days are always hugely popular when held in venues across England.

However, due to the limitations on non-essential travel in the UK, Fellows has been unable to provide in person valuations at either office in London or Birmingham, nor hold the valuation events that were planned for Spring/Summer 2020.

Despite this, demand for free, impartial valuations has not declined, rather it has increased.

Jewellery and watch specialists, working remotely, have been inundated with requests for valuations via the firm’s online valuation portal, website live chat, email and social media channels.

In response, the team have come up with an innovative solution to offer their customers the best valuation experience possible during these strange times – a virtual valuation day.

Interested parties are invited to join Fellows’ jewellery and watch specialists for first-of-its-kind virtual valuation day on Tuesday April 28, 10am – 4pm.

Using video conferencing software, valuers will be able to meet with clients face-to-face to discuss their items.

The valuations will be for jewellery, watches, and designer accessories.

Alexandra Whittaker, the project’s lead, shares: “We use video conferencing technology a lot internally. Although we are over 144 years old as a firm, we are always keen to embrace technological advances.

“Our team are now very used to working remotely, valuing items by photo. This is just the next step, really. I hope that this will be a fun, new experience for our clients. I know I am looking forward to running it! I am glad that through these extremely trying times, we are able to innovate and find ways to establish a new normal.”

As well as their existing customers, Fellows are inviting anyone to take part in this innovative valuation experience.

These valuations are offered free of charge for an open-market appraisal.

There is no obligation to consign items to auction.

Appointments will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Instructions on how to join the virtual valuation day will be provided, as well as any technical help.

Due to the high demand for their auctions, Fellows is actively seeking consignments for upcoming watch and jewellery auctions.
