Hatton Garden business says gossip is "news to us".

Rashbel – a Hatton Garden-based finding, tools and bullion counter – has reacted to “vicious rumours” that it is closing down, sending out a statement in its newsletter today.

Rashbel has been supplying the trade with findings, loose chain, leather, tools, stones and metal since 1999, from its premises on Hatton Wall and through its website.

In a statement sent out today to its email mailing list, Rashbel said that it was shocked to hear rumours that it was due to close, adding that while some lines were out of stock this was not sign of closure.

The statement read as follows:

Dear Customers
There has been a vicious rumour going around the trade that we are going to be closing. We are shocked to hear this and it’s new to us!!

Please understand that you can buy with confidence from Rashbel, yes, some lines are out of stock but this is not a sign of closure, all suppliers have out of stock items.

We are reviewing our prices and stock levels constantly, making you better deals and getting stock asked for. We need your feedback to move forward, and all feedback is taken on board.

A new website is being developed, it’s a long process and we want to get it right. Your input and needs are very welcome.

Thank you
Rashbel Team
