Italian brand previews range in Harrods with two designs already sold.

Fope has unveiled its first high jewellery collection Mia Luce at BaseWorld, extending its offer into higher price points.

The gold and diamond collection features multi-strand necklaces and cuffs and bombe-style rings, pairing white gold with black and white diamonds, rose gold with white diamonds and yellow gold with brown diamonds.

The new collection was showcased ahead of BaselWorld to 25 specially selected Fope retailers at London’s Goldsmiths Hall, as well as jewellery retailers in Germany and the UAE, to gain feedback.

Fope marketing assistant Valentina Bertoldo told Professional Jeweller that reaction to the collection has been fantastic and that while the brand has concentrated for a long time on its chains and FlexIt lines, it wanted to offer retailers a new direction.

The range is made using Fope’s Novecento mesh chain and is separated into three collections: Wood in 18ct rose gold, Moss in 18ct yellow gold and Stone in 18ct white gold. Each piece is set with an average of 5.50cts. Designs include cuff bracelets, lariats, rings, earrings.

The rose gold Wood collection has already been placed in Harrods in London as a preview, with the lariat and ring selling in the first weekend. The range will be available to order by retailers or can be showcased at trunk show events.

Fope reported that the UK has been one of its best markets in recent years, and was its second best performing market in the world in 2012.
