Rebecca Smith leaves NY for London as she takes partner role.
Rebecca Smith has left her position at Royal Asscher in New York to join diamond, jewellery and luxury consultancy Plouton as associate partner, based in London.
Plouton said it believes that hiring Smith has been a strategic move for the company and added that as a result it has already received interest from US companies aiming to break into Europe, and from European companies wishing to move into the US.
Smith spent five years with Royal Asscher in the States where she was responsible for the company’s US launch. She also headed up US media relations for the company and its corporate social responsibility programme Star of Africa.
She said: “As someone who is consistently intrigued by the jewellery industry from the mine to the shop floor, this is a very interesting opportunity for me, I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Plouton.”
Plouton offers specialist international PR, market intelligence, strategic marketing and creative services management for B2B and B2C businesses in the jewellery industry. The company said that over the coming months it is planning to expand into emerging markets such as Asia and the Far East by helping companies in those regions do business in Europe, US and their home markets.
