The winners of this year’s Jewellery Week Greenwich Gem of a Pop-Up Shop has been announced as Kristjan Eyjolfsson, Lili & Ida, Sian Bostwick and Maree.

The four jewellers will set up shop at 7 Turnpin Lane, Greenwich, on Friday June 7 in time for the launch of Jewellery Week 2013.

The winners were selected by a panel of industry experts, sponsors and event organisers: local designer Johnny Rocket, Greenwich handbag and accessory designers Sophia & Matt, editor of The Guide resident magazine Victoria Purcell, Greenwich Hospital portfolio manager Gillie Bexson and Jewellery Week director Della Tinsley.

Greenwich based designer and original ambassador of Jewellery Week, Johnny Rocket said of this year’s winners: “The standard of entrants this year was startlingly high and it was extremely difficult to choose the winners. Ideally we would have liked to have gifted the shop to all of the jewellers who entered, they were all so good.”

Two of last year’s Greenwich pop-up shop winners Myia Bonner and Jessica de Lotz are set to host an exhibition space for Jewellery Week 2013 which will house young London based designers and creators. These will be predominantly jewellers but will also include other disciplines to offer “a diverse innovation environment”.

Della Tinsley said of this year’s competition: “In the second year of this competition the overall standard of all of the entrants is outstanding. I look forward to visiting the shop and seeing their collections and shop designs first hand.”

As well as the pop-up shop and exhibition Greenwich Market will host a variety of events during Jewellery Week including Greenwich Best Jewellery Market on Saturday June 15 from 11am, the Accurist-sponsored Greenwich Treasure Trail on June 7 to 16 and a competition hosted by Greenwich based Beadoir which invites under 12’s to design and draw their own designs, the best drawing will be made up and given to the winner to keep with runner up prizes of jewellery making kits.

The Greenwich pop-up shop will be open until June 30.
